As a practitioner, administrator, teacher, theorist, and leader, Mark A. Greene (1959–2017) was one of the most influential archivists of his generation on US archival theory and practice. He helped shape the modern American archivist identity through the establishment of a core set of values for the profession.

CHRISTINE WEIDEMAN has been director of Manuscripts and Archives in the Yale University Library since January 2009. Prior to that, she was deputy director and interim director. She trained as an archivist at the Bentley Historical Library at the University of Michigan. She has a number of publications to her credit and is a Fellow of the Society of American Archivists.

MARY A. CALDERA received her BA and MLS from Texas Woman’s University. She is head of Arrangement and Description in Manuscripts and Archives at Yale University Library, where her duties include arrangement and description, reference, instruction and collection development. Her research interests include representation of sexual minorities in
archives and diversity and inclusion in the archives profession. She has written and presented on lgbt documentation issues and is the co-editor of Through the Archival Looking Glass: A Reader on Diversity and Inclusion (Society of American Archivists, 2014).
