Edmund Keeley is the author of six novels, fourteen volumes of poetry in translation, and five volumes of nonfiction. His work has recieved numerous awards, including the Rome Prize of the American Academy of Arts and Letters, a Guggenheim Fellowship in Fiction, and the Howard T. Behrman Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Humanities. A Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Keeley is presently Charles Barnwell Straut Professor of English and Director of the Program in Hellenic Studies, Princeton University. During 1991-93, he served as President of PEN American Center.
