The book is primarily a descriptive catalogue, but it also gives some three hundred short biographical notes regarding Italian writers—for the most part of the sixteenth century—and bibliographical information regarding publishers and editions. The section devoted to Romances of Chivalry, one hundred and twenty-four in number, should be of especial interest to students of this branch of Italian literature.
